KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 3): The Pakatan Harapan government’s maiden budget was not as bad as many had feared.

Despite the government’s fiscal constraints and its RM1 trillion debt burden, Budget 2019 still contained measures to relieve the people’s burden, put more money in the pockets of the lower income group as well as encourage investments.

Highlights include a different approach towards raising the disposable income for people who need it most. Long-standing concerns on housing, healthcare insurance and high cost of living are also being tackled by leveraging on technology and innovative mechanism.
