KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 12): Cycle & Carriage Bintang Bhd (CCB) has appointed Tok Chek Kuan as its new chief executive officer (CEO).

According to the automotive group's bourse filing on Wednesday (Jan 12), the Singaporean is currently CCB’s general manager and head of sales, a position he has held since Jan 1, 2017.

Prior to that, he was the senior manager and head of new car logistics in Cycle & Carriage Kia Pte Ltd in Singapore between Nov 24, 2014 to Dec 31, 2016.

For its third quarter ended Sept 30, 2021 (3QFY21), CCB recorded a 70.77% decline in net profit to RM2.1 million from RM7.2 million a year earlier as revenue fell 48.17% to RM212 million from RM409.05 million, mainly due to lower sales volumes caused by the Movement Control Order 3.0 restrictions, as well as supply-chain related challenges that affected production.

At market close, CCB’s shares were six sen or 2.88% lower at RM2.02 per share, giving it a market capitalisation of RM203.5 million.
