SINGAPORE (May 16): Cosco Corporation says Cosco Zhoushan Shipyard Co, a unit of its 51% owned subsidiary Cosco Shipyard Group Company, has delivered a 111,000dwt oil tanker to its European buyer.

The oil tanker known as Front Leopard measures 252m in length, 44m in breadth and 21 m in depth.

Meanwhile, Cosco announced that the delivery of another jack-up drilling rig by its Nantong unit will be delayed.

Cosco (Nantong) Shipyard Co and KS Drilling have agreed to further extend the time for delivery of the undelivered rig from April 30, 2016 to Dec 31, 2017, citing market conditions.

The rig is one of two rigs to be delivered under a building contract between Cosco (Nantong) and KS Drilling.

Cosco adds that selling the rig to a third party to recover their costs remain an option for both parties.

Cosco’s shares closed unchanged at 32 cents on May 16.
