(June 3): Police have reopened Taman Lembah Kiara in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur today, after nearly 10 hours of closure to track down six suspected armed men.
It is accessible to public since 4pm.
National news agency Bernama reported that police also launched “Ops Tutup” on the suspects who were believed to have fled the park area.
Brickfields police chief SAC Azlee Abdullah said that the suspects were believed to be foreigners and were armed with machetes.
"Members of the Tun Dr Ismail Crime Prevention branch patrolling the neighbourhood at about 4.30am came across the group acting suspiciously at the TTDI Hill Park area and when they were stopped they ran into the nearby forest.
"We conducted a search operation in the forest area with the assistance of the K9 (dog) unit... We also launched Ops Tutup immediately," the report said. – The Malaysian Insider
