KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 15): Zecon Bhd has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the UTM School of Professional and Continuing Education (UTMSPACE) for the development, promotion, provision and advancement of continuing education services.

The company, which is principally involved in construction, infrastructure, toll concession and property development, said in a bourse filing today that the MoU sets out the understanding for both parties to carry out academic programmes relating to certain subjects, and any other fields mutually agreed upon in the future.

The subjects it itemised were: education consultation on building infrastructure development; research, development and commercialisation; human capital, training and development; and on-site academic staff and student attachment.

Zecon said the MoU will be effective for five years. Termination by either party will have to be done via a three-months notice.

“The MoU will not have any effect on the earnings per share, net assets per share, gearing and share capital of Zecon for the financial year ending June 30, 2016,” said the company.

Zecon closed 1 sen or 1.27% lower at 78 sen today, valuing it at RM94.1 million.
