KUALA LUMPUR: Former Felcra Bhd non-executive chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Raden and his wife Datin Seri Zizie Izette A Samad will be charged by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) at the Sessions Court here tomorrow.
Bung Moktar, who is Kinabatangan member of parliament and Sabah Umno liason chairman, was arrested in Sabah at 10.50am yesterday, when he was giving his statement to the MACC.
Zizie Izette was arrested at 11.15am yesterday after giving her statement at the MACC office in Putrajaya.
“Both were called in to finish recording their statements. The MACC has obtained permission from the Attorney-General’s Chambers to charge them,” the MACC statement said.
Prior to this, it was reported that Bung Moktar and his wife were called in by the MACC last year.
The husband and wife are expected to face charges under Section 17(a) and Section 28(1)(c) of the MACC Act 2009.
Section 17 concerns the offence of receiving a bribe, while Section 28 concerns abetment.
The husband and wife were later released on MACC bail and asked to report to court tomorrow.
