BNM clarifies Malaysia's daily FX turnover fell to US$14.19b on July 21 from US$14.77b a day earlier

KUALA LUMPUR (July 22): Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) clarified on Friday (July 22) that Malaysia's daily foreign exchange (FX) turnover fell to US$14.19 billion on Thursday (July 21) from US$14.77 billion a day earlier.

In a statement to The Edge, BNM said that data on its website https://www.bnm.gov.my/daily-fx-turnover had been rectified.

Prior to the correction, the FX turnover for July 21 was stated as US$49.88 billion.

BNM's emailed statement was in response to The Edge's queries on the originally stated US$49.88 billion daily FX turnover figure for Malaysia and the outlook for the country's daily FX turnover.
