KUALA LUMPUR: To welcome the Lunar New Year of the Fire Rooster, BMW Group Malaysia introduced two new technology-packed M Sport models, namely the BMW 3 series hybrid — BMW 330e M Sport — and its compact hatch, BMW 118i M Sport.

Available from this month, BMW Group Malaysia said in a statement yesterday that the two latest variants are introduced in conjunction with the premium automaker’s CNY@BMW campaign that is currently ongoing at all its dealerships nationwide.

On the new entrants, BMW Group Malaysia managing director and chief executive officer Han Sang Yun said: “The BMW 1 Series still remains the only rear-wheel drive car in its segment, demarcating a car that is not only sporty and dynamic but also stays very true to our promise of ‘Sheer Driving Pleasure’. ”

As for the BMW 330e, it is the new variant of “the ultimate premium sports sedan we introduced recently at the BMW Innovations Day”, he said, adding it now features “more performance appeal to complement the futuristic technology courtesy of BMW i”.

Both the BMW 330e and BMW 118i are equipped with performance-ready M Sport body kits and interior fitting.

Among other interesting features of the cars are: the BMW ConnectedDrive system, the park assist function that enables the car to park itself, and the GPS-assisted one-touch emergency call function.

The cars can also automatically transmit service-relevant data from the car to BMW service centres when a servicing is due. They also have a 24-hour BMW concierge service, which let drivers get personal assistance from call centre agents at the push of a button, which BMW said is a first in the industry.

The new BMW 330e M Sport retails at RM258,800 (on the road, without insurance), while the 118i M Sport is priced at RM188,800.

Together with its Lunar New Year campaign over the next two weekends, under which a host of festive activities will be carried out, BMW Group Malaysia is also conducting a “Test-Drive Lucky Draw” programme until Feb 12, whereby visitors who test drive any BMW model will stand a chance to win up to RM88,888 to purchase a new BMW vehicle.
