KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 26): Berjaya Golf Resort Bhd, a subsidiary of Berjaya Land Bhd, has officially handed over the keys to buyers of its first affordable homes project: Residensi Lanai in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

Residensi Lanai is a 29-storey condominium with 5-storey podium car park built on a 2.56-acre freehold site in Bukit Jalil. Each of its 648 units has a built-up of 800 sq ft comprising three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The project was launched in 2017 as a Federal Territories Affordable Housing Project (RUMAWIP).

“One of the key indicators of a country’s progress is its provision of sustainable housing and adequate infrastructure for its citizens. In this regard, under the National Housing Policy, various programmes have been introduced to provide more homeownership opportunities for Malaysians, especially first homebuyers,” said Berjaya Land CEO Syed Ali Shahul Hameedin in a statement following a key handover ceremony yesterday.

The developer added that Berjaya Corp Bhd executive chairman Tan Sri Vincent Tan has also pledged to contribute 20 acres of land located at Bestari Jaya in Selangor to the Housing and Local Government Ministry for the building of more affordable homes.

Berjaya Land’s other affordable homes projects in the pipeline are in Selangor’s Subang Heights and Shah Alam; and in Penang, said Syed Ali.

Located in the bustling township of Bukit Jalil, Residensi Lanai is surrounded by established neighbourhoods such as Sri Petaling and Old Klang Road. It has easy access to major highways such as the Damansara-Puchong Expressway and Maju Expressway and is well-served by public transportation, including the Rapid KL bus and Light Rail Transit train services.

It is also within close proximity to sporting and recreational facilities such as the Bukit Jalil National Sports Complex and the Bukit Jalil Recreational Park. Some of the condo units also enjoy a panoramic view of Bukit Jalil Golf & Country Resort. — EdgeProp.my
