KUALA LUMPUR: Barakah Offshore Petroleum Bhd has won a RM38.2 million contract involving the transportation and installation of riser guards at oil and gas platforms in Sarawak.

In a bourse filing yesterday, Barakah said it secured the contract via its wholly-owned unit, PBJV Group Sdn Bhd.

“The work scope involves transportation and installation of 10 riser guards at seven platforms in SKO Field, Sarawak. The duration is four months ending in October 2016.

“The value of the lump sum work scope is estimated at RM38.2 million, and is expected to contribute positively towards the earnings and net assets per share of [the] Barakah group for the duration of the work scope,” Barakah said.

Barakah shares fell two sen or 2.88% to settle at 67.5 sen, valuing the company at RM556.81 million.
