KUALA LUMPUR (April 15): Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad (BMMB) Headquarters and branch at Jalan Melaka, in Kuala Lumpur will be closed following the Government's decision to place the Masjid India area under the Enhanced Movement Control (EMCO), beginning April 14 until April 28.

In a statement April 14, the bank said customers may proceed to its nearest branch at Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur for their banking business.

“We however encourage our customers to use our online banking services.

“The move is deemed necessary to safeguard the safety of our customers and employees,” it said.

BMMB said in view of this, all employees at the Headquarters building and branch at Jalan Melaka, have been directed to Work from Home or from its Business Continuity (BC) sites within Klang Valley.

“We, as a bank, will do our part to comply with the Government's efforts to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We will however keep our basic operations running to serve our customers who may need our critical services,” it added.

BMMB said it is taking aggressive steps to safeguard the health and safety of its customers, staff and communities while ensuring the delivery of important financial services such as money and credit availability.

The bank also assured its customers that its business continues to operate as usual, with minimal disruptions.
