KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 21): The Ascott Ltd, wholly owned by CapitaLand Investment Ltd, launched Citadines Connect in Lebuh Noordin, Georgetown, Penang on Tuesday (Dec 20). Citadines Connect is a hotel situated in a two-storey pre-war building, and marks Ascott’s third operating property in Penang.
In a press statement, Ascott’s country general manager for Malaysia Mondi Mecja explained that the hotel revolves around three concepts. “There’s RE-SPACE, a shared space that allows guests to catch a breather, connect and recharge before check-in and after check-out.
“CONNECT is a flexible breakaway spaces for guests who are seeking some extra privacy to catch up on work or small group discussions, and thrive through the 'Grab and Go' concept, as guests can recharge at any time of the day with on-the-go lite bites, available via the 24-hour self-service at our Grab and Go station in the lobby,” he said.
The hotel will have 143 rooms consisting of modern rooms, suites and apartments. Its special soft opening promotion starts from RM390+ per night, inclusive of breakfast.
Also present at the event were celebrity chef Chef Wan, and television host, actor, restaurateur and entrepreneur Chef Aini.
Citadines Connect Georgetown Penang is in close proximity to eateries such as hawker food, Penang traditional food outlets, high-end restaurants as well as local heritage buildings.
Within the next two years, Ascott is expected to launch a few more properties, such as lyf Raja Chulan Kuala Lumpur, Domitys Bangsar Kuala Lumpur, Somerset KL Metropolis Kuala Lumpur, Citadines Waterfront Kota Kinabalu, Citadines Tanjung Tokong Penang and Harris Sunshine Penang.
