SINGAPORE (April 29): Amol Gupte has been named Citi's country officer for Singapore and head of Asean.
He replaces Michael Zink, who retired earlier this year after 28 years at Citi.
Gupte will relocate to Singapore and continue to report to Francisco Aristeguieta and participate in the Asia Pacific Operating Committee.
In his new role, Gupte will oversee all of Citi's businesses and franchise operations in Singapore, and will be responsible for maintaining the bank's regulatory and governance standards. He will also oversee the leadership of the Asean cluster.
Patrick Dewilde, Asia Pacific head of markets and securities services, in addition to his current role, has agreed to serve as interim CCO for Singapore while Gupte transitions to his new role.
Citi has started the process to identify a candidate to succeed Gupte as head of trade & treasury solutions for Asia Pacific.
