KUALA LUMPUR (May 28): AirAsia Group Bhd has provided financial assistance to some subsidiaries and associates amounting to around RM48.3 million, it announced on Bursa Malaysia.
According to a filing, it had provided US$400,000, or the equivalent of RM1.7 million, in advances to its online financial services subsidiary Big Pay Pte Ltd through its unit AirAsia Digital Sdn Bhd on March 31.
Meanwhile, AirAsia also made a series of advances amounting to US$8.1 million (the equivalent of RM33.7 million) to PT Indonesia AirAsia through its unit AirAsia Bhd on Jan 25, Feb 24, and March 8 and 23.
In addition, AirAsia also advanced a total of US$3.1 million (the equivalent of RM12.9 million) to AirAsia Inc on Feb 24 and March 24.
In the filing, the group said the financial assistance does not have a material effect on the earnings per share, net assets per share, and the gearing level of the company and its subsidiaries.
At 11.20am, the counter was up one sen or 1.16% to 87 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM3.3 billion.
