KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Ahmad Johari Razak, younger brother of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, resigned as independent and non-executive director of Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd (MRCB) “to pursue other interests”.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, MRCB (fundamental: 0.6; valuation: 0.8) announced that Ahmad Johari had also resigned from his position as the chairman of the nomination committee in the company.

Ahmad Johari’s position as nomination committee chairman would be replaced by Jamaludin Zakaria, who is also an independent and non-executive director in MRCB.

Ahmad Johari, who is a law graduate and director in six companies, was appointed as a director of MRCB in February 2014.

MRCB closed one sen or 0.75% lower at RM1.32 yesterday, giving it a market capitalisation of RM2.37 billion.
