KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 5): Agrobank has appointed Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah Raja Hussin as its president and chief executive officer.
In a statement, the development financial institution said Ahmad Badli has more than 29 years of extensive experience in banking and finance.
Prior to joining Agrobank, he held various leadership roles in Pelaburan MARA Bhd (PMB), Kuwait Finance House and HSBC Bank Malaysia Bhd.
He is a fellow member of the Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia and attended the Islamic Finance Leadership Programme at Clare College, Cambridge University, and Executive Leadership Programme at Cornell University in the US.
He holds a law degree from the University of East Anglia, England.
Agrobank chairman Datuk Mustapha Buang said Ahmad Badli’s broad experience in strategic planning, business development, legal and syariah compliant financing coupled with his strong leadership skill and vision, will further strengthen the bank’s position as the leading agriculture financial institution in Malaysia.
He added that the appointment demonstrates the bank’s commitment towards the success of its 2021–2025 Strategic Business Plan (SBP).
Meanwhile, Ahmad Badli said Agrobank is an important development financial institution to shape a successful future for the agriculture sector.
“Agrobank has shown great performance in fulfilling its mandated role especially during the Covid-19 pandemic and has grown tremendously ever since. That speaks volumes of the leadership of the bank and the dedication of the bank’s employees as a whole.
“With the bank’s new SBP kickstarting last year together with a solid management team and dedicated employees, I have a high degree of confidence in the strength of Agrobank,” he added.
