KUALA LUMPUR (July 2): Petronas Gas Bhd (PetGas) has appointed Adnan Zainol Abidin (filepix) as its new chairman effective today.
The group said in a stock exchange filing that Adnan takes over from Adif Zulkifli, who resigned after being appointed as executive vice-president and CEO of upstream business at Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) in October last year.
Adnan, meanwhile, was made the executive vice-president and CEO of gas and new energy business at Petronas in October 2019.
Adnan, 58, has been with the national oil company for more than 35 years since joining in 1984, according to the filing.
Prior to this most recent appointment, he served as its senior vice-president of project delivery and technology since April 2019.
Shares in PetGas ended 1.07% or 18 sen higher at RM16.98 today, for a market capitalisation of RM33.6 billion.
