PETALING JAYA (Nov 8): Singapore’s largest hotel operator Accor continues its expansion in the serviced apartment segment with the signing of a management agreement to operate 8 on Claymore Serviced Residences in Orchard Road.
Operations are scheduled to commence at end-2021 in the name of 8 on Claymore Singapore managed by Accor, and the property will undergo a soft refurbishment for all rooms and public areas by mid-2022.
“The signing of this conversion project in Singapore’s prime address is a reflection of our capability to optimise return on investment through our strong distribution and loyalty platforms, as well as our unrivalled expertise and proven track record in conversion projects globally and in Singapore following a successful rebranding of Fairmont Singapore and Swisso^tel The Stamford within target project budget and timelines,” said Accor Southeast Asia, Japan and South Korea CEO Garth Simmons in a press statement on Monday.
The 85-room property will come in layouts of studios to two- and three-bedroom apartments and have spacious living areas, fully-equipped kitchens, in-room laundry facilities and bedrooms. Guests will have access to the club lounge, which includes a landscaped pool and a 24-hour gymnasium.
The development is only a five-minute walk from the Orchard MRT station and surrounded by shopping malls, as well as the Singapore Botanic Gardens and a host of restaurants, bars and entertainment areas. It will also join Accor’s network of 28 properties in Singapore including the Raffles, Fairmont, Sofitel, Swisso^tel, Novotel, Mercure and ibis.
