KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 9): Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) president Datuk Low Kian Chuan was today appointed as the new president of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (NCCIM).

Low, who has served as NCCCIM's secretary-general since 2019, takes over the president's post from Tan Sri Ter Leong Yap, NCCIM said in a statement.

NCCIM is a federation of five national trade organisations, namely ACCCIM, Malay Chamber of Commerce Malaysia (MCCM), Malaysian Associated Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MAICCI), Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI), and the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM).

Ter, who had served as the president of NCCIM since 2016, was also ACCCIM's president from 2015 until July 24 this year, when Low was elected to the position,  according to ACCCIM's website.
