KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 25):Private sector organisations such as 3M Malaysia Sdn Bhd is ready to provide strong private-public collaboration
opportunities, to further grow Malaysia up the economic value chain.
"We are eager to work with business partners, as well as the Malaysian government, to provide solutions which will allow us to create both an economic advantage for the nation’s advancement," Managing Director Michael Wu said in a statement.
Wu said 3M Malaysia would also like to applaud the Malaysian government’s continuous commitment to inculcate a culture of science and innovation among Malaysians.
The announcement around the establishment of a new Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre, for example, is a progressive step towards providing Malaysian businesses with an avenue to gain greater value from innovation, he said.
"We hope that the Malaysian government will work closely with the private sector, to identify the most effective means of developing this initiative," he said.
Additionally, 3M welcomed the government’s move to continue strengthening the development of green technology, by providing investment tax allowances for the purchase of green technology equipment, and income tax exemption on the use of green technology services and system.
"We are looking forward to more initiatives that will further strengthen innovation and will make innovation pervasive in all sectors and segments of society," he said.
