KUALA LUMPUR (May 30): The planned tabling of the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) in Parliament on Aug 6, 2020 has been postponed to January 2021, The Malaysian Insight reported today, quoting Chief Secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Mohd Zuki Ali’s letter to government agency heads.
It was reported that in the letter, Zuki told government agency heads the Cabinet had on May 6, 2020 decided to postpone the tabling of the 12MP.
The news report did not specify the reason for the postponement.
The 12MP outlines the country’s development plan from 2021 to 2025. The Economic Planning Unit’s website indicates that a post-2020 development plan with a clear strategic direction will be formulated to set the way forward for national development agenda over the next decade along with the implementation framework.
At the time of writing today, the chief secretary’s office had not issued a statement to confirm news reports on the 12MP postponement.
