KUALA LUMPUR (May 12): Sabah-based consumer packaged goods distributor Kim Teck Cheong Consolidated Bhd (KL:KTC) plans to grow its revenue by over 50% within the next three years, driven by capacity expansion and a broader regional footprint.

In a statement, the group said it is targeting to lift annual revenue to RM2 billion from RM1.1 billion in the financial year ended June 30, 2025 (FY2025), supported by the development of a RM150 million industrial park in Kota Kinabalu and a further RM30 million investment in Sarawak over the next two years.

The investments reflect KTC’s commitment to supporting economic development within the Brunei Darussalam–Indonesia–Malaysia–Philippines East Asean Growth Area.

The RM150 million industrial park, to be developed on a 15-acre site at the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park, will serve as an integrated industrial ecosystem encompassing manufacturing, technology, trade and distribution. The project is expected to be completed within 18 months, in line with the group's push for efficient and sustainable expansion across Sabah, Sarawak, Brunei and Indonesia.

KTC said the development goes beyond a conventional warehouse, positioning it as a strategic logistics hub aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and supporting long-term growth across Sabah and the broader Asean market while also contributing to job creation in Sabah.

In addition, the group said it plans to expand its transport fleet by 400 vehicles and trucks, strengthening its position as one of the largest logistics fleet operators in East Malaysia and across Borneo. The expansion is expected to create about 500 jobs, bringing its total workforce to nearly 2,300 employees.

KTC was listed on the ACE Market in November last year.

For the first six months of FY2026 (ended Dec 31, 2025), the group’s net profit fell 20% to RM7.65 million from RM9.57 million a year earlier, dragged by higher write-offs from expired and damaged inventory.

Revenue, however, rose about 13% to RM597.23 million from RM529.29 million, supported by stronger domestic demand.

Shares of KTC rose half a sen or 3.7% to 14 sen at the time of writing on Tuesday, valuing the group at RM95.46 million.
