KUALA LUMPUR (April 13): Reservoir Link Energy Bhd has inked an agreement to undertake the construction, commissioning and operations of a new wastewater treatment plant in Indonesia.
The group’s 85%-owned subsidiary PT EnviroTech Akva Indonesia entered into an agreement with PT Unilever Oleochemical Indonesia (PTUOI) on Thursday (April 13) for the new plant in PTUOI's premises at Sei Mangkei, North Sumatra.
“Under the scope of the agreement, Reservoir Link will deploy a 'build, own, operate and maintain' model,” said Reservoir Link in a statement on Thursday. The agreement will span 10 years starting from the date of commercial operations.
Upon the construction and commissioning of the plant, the group will be appointed to receive, treat and discharge all wastewater that is conveyed to PTUOI’s facility, as well as operate and maintain the entire system.
The new plant will be integrated with the current existing plant for the receipt and treatment of effluent inputs and discharge of effluent outputs.
Reservoir Link executive director Thien Chiet Chai said the agreement is a new milestone for the group as it diversifies into wastewater treatment while expanding its regional presence in Indonesia.
“We see immense potential coming from this segment as it will allow the group to generate stable recurring income over the course of the 10-year tenure which in turn will allow us to have better visibility over our future earnings.
“Looking ahead towards the future, we plan to continue looking into various business opportunities to continuously grow Reservoir Link and bring forth immense value to our valued stakeholders,” he added.
Reservoir Link’s share price was unchanged at 34 sen at Thursday’s closing bell, with a market capitalisation of RM97.3 million.
