KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 4): RHB Banking Group has launched mobile e-ticketing services and same-day appointments at 50 selected RHB Bank and RHB Islamic Bank branches in Malaysia, with the help of the Queue Management System (QMS) app.
In a statement yesterday, RHB Banking Group retail distribution head Alex Lim said the requirement for social distancing brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic had made it even more important for financial institutions to ensure that customer interactions at bank branches remain safe.
“While we continue encouraging the use of our Internet and mobile banking services, we still need to engage our customers in a meaningful and personalised way.
“Hence, by having this real-time queue and appointment system on their mobile phones, our customers will be able to significantly reduce time spent within the branch waiting for their turn to be served by our branch officers, and this is especially important during this period of time,” he said.
Meanwhile, RHB Banking Group head of group customer experience Michelle Liew said the health, safety and convenience of customers will always be the bank's key priorities.
“Although customers can still walk in to our branches without an appointment, we encourage the use of the QMS app, where customers can experience a hassle-free, redesigned ‘visit-to-the-branch’ journey, and easily obtain a queue ticket or make an appointment in a few simple steps.
“With this app, customers can step into our branch upon receiving a notification of their turn, and would be served almost immediately,’ she said.
The bank said customers may view a list of participating branches on the QMS app, and the bank plans to expand this service to include all of its branches nationwide by the first half of 2021 (1H21).
The QMS app is available for download from Apple's App Store or the Google Play store for free, it said.
At 9.06am today, RHB Bank had shed 0.35% or two sen to RM5.63, valuing it at RM22.58 billion.
